Futire trains
Super sciencey and nerdy but really interesting.
"Popular Science published an article five years ago on the possibility of a trans-Atlantic maglev train that would travel in an airless underwater tunnel at 4,000 MPH and make the trip from New York to London in an hour.
A 4,000-mph magnetically levitated train could allow you to have lunch in Manhattan and still get to London in time for the theater, despite the 5-hour time difference. It's not impossible: Norway has studied neutrally buoyant tunnels (concluding that they're feasible, though expensive), and Shanghai is running maglev trains to its airport. But supersonic speeds require another critical step: eliminating the air -- and therefore air friction -- from the train's path. A vacuum would also save the tunnel from the destructive effects of a sonic boom, which, unchecked, could potentially rip the tunnel apart."

Eliss

I am finally downloading Eliss for my phone, and going to geek it up. it looks like fun and I have been out of the fun creative loop for too long now. But I am back in business with some awesome projects at work and a real chance to get my head into the mags and blogs and find out what the world is up to these days. Or, I could just spend all day playing iphone games!!!

The project itself consisted in renovating a 1.45 mile-long elevated steel structure built in the 30’s for freight trains, and turning it into a public park with uninterrupted views of the Hudson River and the city skyline.

Howard Schatz Photography
I read an article years and years ago about Aimee Mullins the sprinter and long jumper and thought the photographs of her running with cheetas were awesome. I even ripped out the article and have it stashed away somewhere. I have just found it they were shot by Howard Schatz the famous body and movement photographer. His work is amazing - definatly have a look if you have time. HowardSchatz.com

Olympic Posters
These olympic posters by Alan Clarke are great. Everyone from NOISY DECENT GRAPHICS to CR Blog are raving about them at the moment. I think they are great, despite the amount of comments saying they are too retro.
Be Born Again
To promote Dr. Kim's plastic surgery office, this life scale poster was placed at the entrance of his office and by the elevator in the main lobby of the hospital building.

I'm Back
I have been back to blighty for a blissful week and managed to catch a bit of sun in Spain. So I will be back to posting more regularly. I have sooo much stuff in my rss reader! Help.
oh, and since I have been away Spotify have started doing ads. Someone is getting axed off my Christmas card list. But I shouldn't complain - they have the Dirty dancing soundtrack on there to keep me sweet.
